Privacy Policy for Universal Download Manager
This Privacy Policy applies to the mobile application “Universal Download Manager” developed and published by UDM LABS. It explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
1. Information We Process
- Public URLs you paste for downloads, previews, or conversions.
- Files or documents you explicitly upload, select, convert, preview, or submit for AI features.
- Document text extracted through parsing or OCR when you use document tools.
- Questions, prompts, and generated answers when you use summaries or Ask Document reasoning.
- Basic technical and usage data such as IP address, app version, request timestamps, crash data, and performance events.
- Ad-related signals for free users via Google AdMob.
2. Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect
- Passwords, private messages, contacts, or call logs.
- Precise GPS location.
- Personal local files unless you explicitly choose to upload, open, convert, preview, or analyze them.
3. How Data Is Used
- To process downloads, previews, and conversions requested by you.
- To provide OCR, summaries, and Ask Document reasoning features.
- To maintain reliability, speed, rate limiting, fraud prevention, and abuse protection.
- To troubleshoot errors, improve service quality, and secure our systems.
- To show ads in the free version.
4. Server-Side AI Document Processing
If you use Ask Document or other AI document features in Universal Download Manager, your selected file, extracted text, and your questions may be sent to our servers for processing.
To generate answers, summaries, or OCR-assisted results, we may process the document on our servers and may send relevant document content and prompts to third-party AI or infrastructure providers acting on our behalf.
Please avoid submitting highly sensitive documents unless you are comfortable with this server-side processing.
5. File Storage and Retention
Files are stored on your device by default where possible. Some features require temporary server-side handling.
When cloud or server processing is used, uploaded files, extracted text, prompts, and generated outputs may be stored temporarily to complete your request, maintain service integrity, prevent abuse, recover from failures, or comply with legal obligations.
We aim to keep server-side retention limited and not longer than reasonably necessary for these purposes.
6. Third-Party Services
- AI and document-processing providers used to power OCR, summaries, and Ask Document reasoning.
- Hosting, storage, security, and infrastructure providers that help operate the service.
- Google AdMob for advertising in the free version.
7. Advertising (Google AdMob)
AdMob may process device identifiers, approximate location, app interaction data, and other signals for ad delivery, measurement, and fraud prevention.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data in transit and in our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children’s Privacy
Universal Download Manager is not directed to children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has submitted personal data through the service.
10. Your Rights
You may request access, correction, or deletion of data we control, subject to technical limitations, legal obligations, and legitimate security needs.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted with a revised “Last updated” date.
